Keyboarding

LI: To not look at the key board wile typing.

For daily six this week i decided to do key boarding. First we had to type in all the words that they have put up without looking at the keyboard.  When we finished one we would have to press the space button and write the next word. Before this you have to read the instructions to play. If you typed in the wrong letter it would turn red and you would have to move on to the next word. You would level up every time you finished typing in all the words.

Walls

This week for inquiry we have been researching and finding information about different types o of defending walls that you use in war. We had to research about four different types of walls which were the sand, stone wall, the rammed earth wall, the stone wall and the palisade wall. We had to get into a group of four and research about these different types of walls. In my group there was Farzana, me , Sakina and Victoria. We decided to all research on one each. Farzana researched about the sand and stone wall, Victoria researched about the rammed earth wall, I researched about the stone wall and Sakina researched about the palisade. After that we had to go and show our work to Mr Wong, but before we showed our work to Mr Wong we had to decide which one we were going to build,m we had to think about it because the only materials we could use was sand rocks toothpicks and a little bit of water.

The next thing we did was build our wall. All the groups had to build a castle wall and then pick there own one for the next one. We picked a palisade because it was a interesting topic to learn about. After we finished building our walls we had to use the catapult that Mr Wong had built using pencils and elastic bands to try bust the castle down. Mr Wong went write down through the groups. Our one succeeded when he had fired at the toothpicks and then after he went around everyone's first one that they built and then started at the start and went around again, the second one of ours succeeded so that was good and then we packed up and put the sand back into the sand pit.

Manticore vs Asian dragon debate (Speeches)

LI: To write a persuasive speech. This week for writing we have been learning about giving speeches. We had to pick a side between the Manticore and the Asian dragon. But before we picked the sides we had ti research about them to see which won would win in a fight. We had to find out about there abilities powers and things that they could do so if they did fight we would know what they could use and who would win. After we researched about the two character we had to pick a side. I picked the Manticore because it was a lot more interesting and because it had more detail and facts about it. After that we had to go o the class site and go onto the Oreo planner and make a copy.

After we made a copy we had to use the Oreo planner to help us, The Oreo planner stands for opinion, reason and explanation and then your last opinion, the reason we have a last opinion is because when we finished our research we wanted to see how the research explained why a Manticore would beat a Asian dragon. After we finished researching about the Mantcore and Asian dragon we had to put it on a google doc to read off when reading our speech.

After that we all sat in our teams which was the Manticore team and the Asian dragon team. Well we were getting tinto our teams Mr Wong was setting up the table and the seats. Aftewr we got into our groups Mr Wong said three people come onto the seats. When one person finishe there speech Mr Wong would pick out opf that person and there enemies. After those two people from each team are finished another person fills there seat. When we every single person in both teams have finished there speeches Mr Wong added up the points and whoever had the mist wins and the Manticore team won.
